Frank Lachapelle, Program Director

Frank Lachapelle is the Program Director for Reconnect NYC and an alumnus of the organization's Class of 2016. A proud first-generation Dominican-American, Frank was born in Brooklyn and raised in Tompkins NYCHA housing.

Frank studied Data Science at the New York City College of Technology. During his college years, he served as Vice President of Finance for the Student Government; he also served as the Director of Budgeting and Finance for the largest collegiate hackathon in New York City and later as Vice Chair of Legislative Affairs for the University Student Senate at CUNY, representing 275,000 students and advocating for public higher education. 

Frank's commitment to community service extends beyond his academic achievements. He has served as a member of Community Board 3 in Bed-Stuy and Crown Heights, contributed as a student board member on the CUNY Board of Trustees Governance Committee, and worked as a Youth Community Coordinator for the Youth Service Coordination Program at Los Sures. From 2020 to 2021, Frank played an instrumental role in the election campaign of Council Member Chi Ossé, the youngest city council member in New York City's history.

In addition to his civilian efforts, Frank serves in the New York National Guard. Outside of his professional and community work, Frank is passionate about fitness and health, embracing an active lifestyle to stay grounded and energized.
