Trace Mebane, Director, Graphics and Printing Shop and Woodshop

Trace Mebane is the Graphics and Woodshop Director at Reconnect. He oversees all production projects that take place in both the Screen Printing Department and the Woodshop. This includes training the young men in all phases of screen print productions. As well as operating power tools and building woodworking projects within the woodshop.

Trace is an entrepreneur who has worked in the graphics Industry for over 30 years. He is also very skillful in home Improvement skills such as plumbing, light electrical and carpentry. At Reconnect he teaches and provides hands-on training in both social enterprises. He joined Reconnect as a way of giving back and sharing the knowledge and the skills that he has acquired over the years.

Trace’s career started in the state of Maryland where he attended the University of Maryland at College Park. He got his first Graphics and printing Job from a place called Jewel & Co. This was the spark that set off his long career in the graphics industry. After working in Maryland for a few years, he moved back to New York and worked for several Printing and construction companies. He honed both his graphics and his home improvement skills working for various companies in the 5 boros. Today he mentors and teaches the young men at Reconnect how to work as a team and to be positive individuals in their communities.

Trace enjoys fine Arts, music, fashion, sports, traveling and most importantly a good long drive. This clears his head while enjoying the scenery and appreciating what life has to offer.
